Dražen Kokanović je nakon Gjure, popularni noćni klub, par godina vidio tvrtku Ghetaldus koja je tada financirala izdavanje knjiga novih autora, pa su tamo prva djela objavljivali Robert Perišić i Damir Karakaš. Godine 2005. Kokanović pokreće Zagreb Jazz Festival i time doveo vrhunski jazz u Zagreb. Ispričao je za Dnevnu sobu kako je na brdoviti Balkan uspio dovesti mnoge od najvažnijih jazz muzičara današnjice i mnoge druge tajne iz svoje prošlosti klinca koji je sanjao da postane nogometaš, pa je onda došao u Zagreb i upisao pravo, nakon čega je te davne 1979., zakoračio i u noćni život Zagreba.
