John Cleese u Sarajevu: U ovo vrijeme najviše trebamo komedijaše
Ovo je vrijeme u povijesti u kojem možda najviše trebamo komedijaše, rekao je Monty Pythonovac John Cleese primajući nagradu za doprinos filmskoj umjetnosti na Sarajevo film festivalu. Zezao se s domaćinima da je bio uplašen kad je dolazi jer su mu kazali kako bi me netko mogao ubiti a znam da to ne bi bilo prvi puta da je netko ubijen u Sarajevu. “Ovo srce dodjeljujemo nekome tko nas je učio da se smijemo sami sebi, da humor i ironija mogu spasiti živote, a mi u Sarajevu to znamo jako dobro”, kazao je direktor SFF-a Mirsad Purivatra. Cleese je poslije u intervjuu za Klix.ba rekao da je “humor najpozitivnija mogućnost koja vam olakšava da se nosite s poteškoćama”. Inače, festival je zatvoren jučer, a najboljim filmom proglašen je ‘Strašna majka’ gruzijske rediteljice Ane Urushadze o 50-godišnjoj domaćici koja je prisiljena odabrati između obiteljskog života i svoje strasti – pisanja, koju je godinama potiskivala.

John Cleese u videu nastalom prije više od 30 godina analizira psihologiju ekstremizma. Njegov glavni zaključak je da ekstremizam služi kao sredstvo za postizanje unutarnjeg zadovoljstva jer pojedincu pruža “popis neprijatelja”.
- Moralna superiornost: Ekstremist projicira sve zlo u svoje neprijatelje, dok sebe vidi kao utjelovljenje dobrote.
- Opravdanje agresije: Imati neprijatelje omogućuje ljudima da ispoljavaju bijes i vrijeđaju druge, dok istovremeno vjeruju da je njihovo ponašanje moralno opravdano.
- Sličnost ekstrema: Bez obzira na to radi li se o ekstremnoj ljevici ili desnici, mehanizam je isti – jedina razlika je u popisu meta.
Cleese zaključuje da ekstremizam nije borba za istinu, već manifestacija nesigurnosti i paranoje.

John Cleese u jednom je intervjuu rekao kako se protivi političkoj korektnosti. “Problem je u ljudima koji ne mogu kontrolirati svoje emocije, pa pokušavaju tuđe, a to bi moglo društvo odvesti putem Orwellove 1984… Ako počneš razmišljati ‘Ne smijemo kritizirati ili uvrijediti’ humor nestaje, a sa humorom nestaje i osjećaj za mjeru”, kaže Cleese. e-Novine
