Povodom Ljubičastog dana, Hrvatska udruga za epilepsiju upozorava da u Hrvatskoj oko 40 tisuća ljudi živi s epilepsijom, uključujući 10 tisuća djece i mladih. Unatoč tome što se u 70 posto slučajeva bolest može kontrolirati lijekovima, oboljeli se i dalje suočavaju sa stigmatizacijom i diskriminacijom, osobito pri zapošljavanju. Mnogi zbog straha skrivaju dijagnozu. Cilj kampanja i događanja poput “Bicikliraj za epilepsiju” je podizanje svijesti i rušenje predrasuda kako bi se osiguralo ravnopravno i dostojanstveno življenje osoba s epilepsijom. HRT
