Steven Spielberg, višestruki dobitnik nagrade Oscar i čovjek koji je stvorio nezaboravne filmske klasike poput E.T., Gooniesa, Indiana Jonesa, Povratka u budućnost i Jurskog parka, na velika platna donosi priču britanskog pisca Ronalda Dahla.

Priča prati Sophie, desetogodišnju djevojčicu iz sirotišta koja upozna jedinog prijateljskog diva na svijetu, zaduženog da skuplja dobre snove i poklanja ih djeci.

Knjiga, za koju je ilustracije napravio Quentin Blake, prethodno je adaptirana kao animirani film za britansku televiziju 1989. godine. Nova adaptacija ponovno će ujediniti Spilberga i scenaristicu E.T.-a, Melissu Mathison.

U ulozi Sophie ćemo gledati Ruby Barnhill, a ulogu dobroćudnog diva dobio je Mark Rylance.

Ostale uloge tumače Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement i Penelope Wilton.
